The state government has released the list of state level teacher awards.  16 teachers from different categories have been selected for this.  These include two principals, one headmaster, three spokespersons, two DPEs, one TGT, two C&Vs, one PET, four JBTs.  13 teachers have been selected from 44 applications.  A selection committee was formed for this.  The government has selected three teachers.

 The list issued by the Education Secretary has stated that for the award, Narendra Kumar Sood, Principal of Portmore School, Hindi Dayanand Sharma, spokesperson of Gada Kufar School District Shimla, Physics Rakesh Kumar Walia of Bagli School, Kangra, of Jaunaji School, Solan  DPE Hemprakash Sharma, DPE Dayanand Thakur of Kharga School, Kullu, TGT Arts Sunita Kumari of middle school Kathed of Solan, C&V Dev Dutt Sharma of Sultanpur School, Solan, C&V Tilakraj Sharma of Lamblu School, Hamirpur, PET Nervada of Ochghat School in Solan  JBT Naresh Thakur of Haripurdhar School, Sood, Sirmaur, JBT Vinod Kumar of Barona School, Bilaspur, JBT Promila Devi of Jhagariani School, Hamirpur, JBT Anjana Sharma of Gehradhian School, Bilaspur.


 The three teachers the government has chosen include Uttam Singh Thakur, the headmaster of Dharotdhar Bagsyad School in District Mandi, Dekit Dolkar, principal of Kaza School in Lahaul-Spiti and spokesperson Narendra Kapila from Dhudhan School in Solan.  Three teachers selected by the government are being given to increase the number of students in schools, to provide quality education and to make new experiments in studies.


 Top five teachers chosen from Solan

 The highest number is 5 from Solan, two each from Shimla-Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts and one each from Kangra-Kullu-Sirmaur-Mandi and Lahaul Spiti districts.


 State Level Teacher's Day Celebration Canceled

 The proposed state-level Teacher's Day celebrations on September 5 have been canceled until further orders due to the demise of former President Pranab Mukherjee.  On September 5, the prize distribution ceremony was proposed at the state guest house Peterhoff in the capital Shimla.  Due to the national mourning announced in the country till September 6, the government on Tuesday has decided not to hold Teachers' Day celebrations.  The new date of the event will be decided later.
