☁Scattered thunderstorms forecast in North and South Gujarat: Meteorological Department
The state is witnessing heavy rains. The meteorological department has forecast rain. There are no signs of rain for the next three to four days. Scattered thunderstorms are forecast in some parts of North and South Gujarat.
The state has received 12.62 per cent rainfall in Kutch zone, 12.82 per cent in North Gujarat, 16.87 per cent in South Gujarat, 14.85 per cent in Central Gujarat and 12.17 per cent in Saurashtra so far. The state has received 122.16 mm or 4.80 inches of rainfall so far this season. The meteorological department has also forecast scattered rains in North Gujarat, South Gujarat and some parts of Saurashtra in the coming days.
North Gujarat received an average rainfall of 92.8 mm in June. Which has become the second highest rainfall record in the last 7 years. The highest average rainfall of 115.2 mm was recorded in 2015 in the last 7 years. The lowest average rainfall was 28 mm in 2016. In addition, the average rainfall was 86.4 mm in 2017, 65.2 mm in 2018, 89.6 mm in 2019 and 73.2 mm in 2020. According to a weather expert, the monsoon in North Gujarat this year started 8 days earlier than its scheduled time. As well as the first 6 days of monsoon entry continuous universal rainfall received good rainfall.
