What will the Mahamandal movement do about teachers' issues?
Decision to agitate with the constituent corporations of Gujarat State Educational Union Coordinating Committee
Announcing the agitation in three phases by the corporations
Gandhinagar: As the issues of teachers of the state's grant aided schools have not been resolved yet, the Gujarat State School Administrators' Federation has announced a three-phase agitation. In the first phase of the three-phase agitation, an application form will be submitted to the Minister, MP, MLA and District Education Officer on July 20. While in the second stage silence will be assumed. In the third phase, a one-day symbolic fast has been organized at Gandhinagar.
Regarding the five-year fixed salary jobs of state-subsidized secondary and higher secondary teachers for all purposes in a row, the last three-year installments have not been paid in cash despite the Seventh Pay Commission's announcement to pay the arrears in five installments. In addition, it was introduced to remove the discrepancies and objectionable issues in the Unconditional Permanent Protection Circular and to implement the GPF and the old pension scheme by abolishing the CPF and the enhanced pension scheme.
All these issues have been raised frequently by the Secondary Teachers Union and the Higher Secondary Teachers Union. Yet their representations have not yet been disposed of. Due to these representations, the union boycotted all the standard 10 and 12 examinations to be taken in March 2019. However, the teachers who were reconciled at the time were present at the operation. It has been decided to agitate with the constituent bodies of Gujarat State Educational Union Coordinating Committee as no decision has been taken on the issue of announcements made at the time of settlement and previous costly representations.
In the first phase of the agitation program, district, taluka, city component joint office bearers, executive members and teaching staff will submit application forms to the Minister, MP, MLA, Collector and District Education Officer on Tuesday, July 20 with the implementation of COVID-19 guideline after school hours. In the second phase, after school hours, silence will be observed at the district headquarters with slogans and banners. Thus, if the issues are not resolved, in the third phase, Gandhinagar will hold a one-day symbolic fast at Satyagraha Camp with slogans and banners. Currently, the date of the first phase program has been announced by the Mandal. The date of the second and third phase program will be announced in the coming days.
