Enough is enough - no one has to beg. How good it would be if such socialism came to the country! - Such a feeling happened then and still happens today. When I was studying in school, I used to go to 'Shrikrishnakumar Singhji Vyayam Mandir' in our village regularly. Very interested in country sports.
There are some books in a small closet in the gymnasium - just think of a small library! I had read all the books in this closet. I read the Gujarati translation of the original book of Tarzan's story by Edgar Rice Burrows, obtained from this small library. While studying in high school, I became interested in reading excellent story books as well as detective books.
Dhanshankar Hi. Tripathi, Chandulal Jethalal Somaiya, Nagardas e. Patel etc. books were read. Little did Sherlock Holmes know about criminal books like Holmes or Permison at the time - but the writing of these books was so good that the chain would not fall off without finishing the book. A character like Detective Harnam Singh, Jayant or Gujarati incarnation of Perimesson, Chitragupta Vakil - is remembered today.
In all these books Nagardas e. I especially enjoyed reading Patel's set of 20 books. Story - I have felt that the books of the novel have trained the heart, but reading the spy literature does not seem to have trained the intellect or the reasoning. Once while reading a spy story in the press during a train journey, someone found five notes of Rs 10 each in my pants pocket.
When I studied SSC in Dharmendrasinhji College, Rajkot, after one year, I also took full advantage of the library of 'Shri Ramakrishna Ashram' located next to the college - especially my reading of magazines continued like this. During my high school, college, and textbook congregation jobs, I took an interest in the libraries of these institutions.
The book review periodical 'Granth' was published at that time. Based on the observations made in 'Granth', I installed books in these three institutes. Not all of these, but I was able to read so many excellent books. I read many years ago that Suresh Dalal and Harindra Dave use 5% of their salary to buy books. After reading this, I thought, how good it would be if I could buy books like this too! When I was living in a room with a kitchen,
it used to happen that if I had a separate room to keep books, how good it would be! Today, by the grace of God, I can buy a few books and there is also a separate room for keeping books.
