E-Governance is basically associated with carrying out the functions and achieving the results of governance through the utilization of ICT Information and Communications Technology. Technology makes communication speedier. Internet have reduced the time taken in normal communication. Government expenditure is appropriated towards the cost of stationary. Paper-based communication needs lots of stationary, printers, computers, etc. which calls for continuous heavy expenditure. Internet and Phones makes communication cheaper saving valuable money for the Government.


ICTs help improve efficiency in mass processing tasks and public administration operations. Internet-based applications can generate savings on data collection and transmission, provision of information and communication with customers. Significant future efficiencies are likely through greater sharing of data within and between governments. CSC in the areas of e-governance, education, health, telemedicine, entertainment as well as other private services. A highlight of the CSCs is that it will offer web-enabled e-governance services in rural areas, including application forms, certificates, and utility payments such as electricity, telephone and water bills.


All the information of the Government would be made available on the internet. The citizens can see the information whenever they want to see. But this is only possible when every piece of information of the Government is uploaded on the internet and is available for the public to peruse. Current governing process leaves many ways to conceal the information from all the people. ICT helps make the information available online eliminating all the possibilities of concealing of information. Use of ICT makes governing profess transparent so Transparency Possibal. Once the governing process is made transparent the Government is automatically made accountable. Accountability is answerability of the Government to the people. It is the answerability for the deeds of the Government. An accountable Government is a responsible Government.The fact that governments need to make use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is no longer questioned. It is globally recognized that ICT promotes good governance and clean government.


Successful services are built on an understanding of user requirements. A customer focus implies that a user should not have to understand complex government structures and relationships in order to interact with government. The Internet can help achieve this goal by enabling governments to appear as a unified organization and provide seamless online service. As with all services, e-government services must be developed in light of demand and user value.


Educational Administration is a discipline within the study of education that examines the administrative theory and practice of education in general and educational institutions and ducatorsin particular. The field ideally distinguishes it self from administration and management through its adherence to guiding principles of educational philosophy. The concept of educational administration may not be totally different from what we are familiar with in the concept of administration. Education at different levels has its objectives;the most important of the objectives that cut across all the levels of education is teaching and learning. It is the function of the school to produce educated and enlightened human beings who would be able to contribute positively to the development of the society.


E-Government helps reduce corruption, increases openness and trust in government, and thus contributes to economic policy objectives. Specific impacts include reduced government spending through more effective programs, and efficiencies and improvements in business productivity through ICT-enabled administrative simplification and enhanced government information. The great majority of countries are facing the issue of public management modernization and reform. Current developments mean that the reform process must be continuous. ICTs have underpinned reforms in many areas, for example by improving transparency, facilitating information-sharing and highlighting internal inconsistencies.

India e-Governance was provided Information it national satellite-based computer network. This was followed by the launch of National Informatics Centre programme to computerize all district offices in the country for which free hardware and software was offered to the State Governments. In the ensuing years, with ongoing computerization, tele-connectivity and internet connectivity established a large number of e-Governance initiatives, both at the Union and State levels.


e-District is one of the Projects under National e Governance Plan (NeGP) with the DIT, GoI being the nodal ministry. This project aims at providing support to the basic administrative unit District Administration by undertaking backend computerization to enable electronic delivery of high volume citizen centric government services which would optimally leverage and utilize the three infrastructure pillars of State Wide Area Networks (SWAN), State Data Centers (SDC) and Common Service Centers (CSCs) to deliver services to the citizen at his doorsteps.
Building trust between governments and citizens is fundamental to good governance. ICT can help build trust by enabling citizen engagement in the policy process, promoting open and accountable government and helping to prevent corruption. Furthermore, if limits and challenges are properly overcome, e-government can help an individual’s voice to be heard in a broad debate. This is done by harnessing ICT to encourage citizens to think constructively about public issues and assessing the impact of applying technology to open up the policy process. provides efficient storing and retrieval of data, instantaneous transmission of information, processing information and data faster than the earlier manual systems, speeding up governmental processes, taking decisions expeditiously and judiciously, increasing transparency and enforcing accountability. It also helps in increasing the reach of government – both geographically and demographically.


The Right to Education Act gives little importance for implementing e-governance in our education system and the education sector has remained relatively untouched by e-governance before this Act.
