ધોરણ 10 માં પર્સેન્ટાઇલ રેન્ક એટલે શું ? જાણો Percentile Rank વિશે, છેલ્લા કેટલાક વર્ષથી ગુજરાત માધ્યમિક શિક્ષણ બોર્ડ દ્વારા પરીક્ષા પદ્ધતિની સાથે પરિણામની પદ્ધતિ પણ બદલવામાં આવી છે. જેમાં અગાઉ બોર્ડના પરિણામોમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓનું પર્સેન્ટેજના આધારે મૂલ્યાંકન કરવામાં આવતું હતું. પરંતુ હવે પર્સેન્ટેજની સાથે પર્સેન્ટાઈલનું પણ મૂલ્યાંકન કરવામાં આવે છે. જેના કારણે વાલી અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં પર્સેન્ટાઈલના મૂલ્યાંકનની પદ્ધતિમાં મૂંઝવણ વધી રહી છે, ત્યારે બોર્ડ દ્વારા જાહેર થયેલા ધોરણ 10ના પરિણામમાં રજૂ કરવામાં આવેલી પર્સેન્ટાઈલની પદ્ધતિને સમજવાનો પ્રયાસ કરીએ
ધોરણ 10 માં પર્સેન્ટાઇલ રેન્ક એટલે શું
પર્સેન્ટાઈલ રેન્ક વિદ્યાર્થીઓના એક વર્ગના દેખાવની મૂલવણી કરવાની જુદી પદ્ધતિ છે. જે પરંપરાગત ટકાવારી પદ્ધતિથી થોડી જુદી પડે છે. પ્રચલિત ટકાવારીની પદ્ધતિ મુજબ, વિદ્યાર્થીએ મેળવેલ ગુણને વિષયની સંખ્યા સાથે ભાગતા જે આંક આવે તેને ટકાવારી તરીકે ઓળખવાની પ્રથા અમલમાં હતી. જ્યારે હવે પર્સેન્ટાઈલ પદ્ધતિનો અમલ થાય છે.
આ રીતે થાય છે પર્સેન્ટાઈલની ગણતરી
પર્સેન્ટાઈલ રેન્કની ગણતરી અંગે વાત કરીએ તો કોઈ એક મૂલ્યાંકનમાં X માર્ક્સ મેળવનાર વિદ્યાર્થીઓ આખા સમૂહમાં કેટલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ કરતા આગળ છે, એટલે કે રેન્કના ક્રમમાં તેમના કરતા કેટલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ છે, તેની તુલના 100 ટકાના સ્કેલમાં કરવાની રહે છે. તેને થોડી સરળ રીતે સમજીએ તો કેટલાક વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ 500માંથી 473(x) ગુણ પ્રાપ્ત કર્યા હોય અને 0થી 472 ગુણ પ્રાપ્ત કરનારની સંખ્યા 95,000(L) હોય અને કુલ વિદ્યાર્થી સમૂહ 100,000(n) હોય તો 472 ગુણ મેળવનાર વિદ્યાર્થીઓની પર્સેન્ટાઈલ રેન્ક 95000ને 100,000 વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સાથે ભાગતા 0.95 અને તેને 100 સાથે ગુણતા 95નો આંક પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે. જેને સરળ ભાષામાં સમજીએ તો 473 માર્ક્સ મેળવનારા વિદ્યાર્થી કુલ વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ટોપ 5 ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં આવે.

This is how the percentile is calculated
Talking about calculation of percentile rank, how many students who get X marks in a particular assessment are ahead of the whole batch, i.e. how many students are ahead of them in order of rank, has to be compared on a scale of 100 percent. To understand it a bit more simply, if some students have scored 473(x) out of 500 and the number of 0 to 472 marks is 95,000(L) and the total student population is 100,000(n), then the percentile rank of students who scored 472 marks is 95000 divided by 100,000 students. 0.95 and gets a score of 95 out of 100. If we understand it in simple language, the student who gets 473 marks will be in the top 5 percent of the total students.
